Canine hydrotherapy using an underwater treadmill is a form of rehabilitation therapy that uses the properties of water to support your dog’s recovery, improve strength and encourage normal movement patterns.
During an underwater treadmill session, your dog walks on a treadmill inside a chamber that is gradually filled with warm water. The water provides buoyancy, which reduces the amount of weight placed through the joints while allowing your dog to practise controlled movement in a safe environment.
The resistance created by the water helps to strengthen muscles, improve balance and increase endurance, while the warmth of the water can help promote relaxation and comfort. The adjustable water level allows the treatment to be tailored to your dog’s individual needs, whether they are recovering from surgery, managing arthritis, rebuilding strength after injury or improving overall fitness.
At All Seasons Animal Rehab, each hydrotherapy session is individually planned based on your dog’s condition, rehabilitation goals and ability. Our aim is to help your dog move more comfortably, rebuild confidence and return to their normal activities safely.
Our hydrotherapists are fully insured and members of a professional regulatory body, ensuring they maintain high standards of practice and complete regular continuing professional development (CPD) training. This allows us to provide safe, evidence-based hydrotherapy tailored to your dog’s individual needs.
We understand that some dogs may find new environments or handling challenging, so we take a calm, patient approach and adapt each session to suit the individual dog.
Every hydrotherapy session is carefully tailored to your dog’s abilities, temperament and rehabilitation goals, helping to improve strength, mobility and confidence while supporting their recovery journey.
